HOW TO STOP FEAR FROM RUINING YOUR LIFE

How to Stop Fear from Ruining Your Life

KEEP FEAR AT BAY

HOW TO STOP FEAR FROM RUINING YOUR LIFE

Often I hear people bemoan the fate of the life during the ride up the elevator. These are the same folks who “can’t wait till Friday” or “can’t wait till the next holiday” or “can’t wait till retirement.”

The interesting and unfortunate thing I have personal found is that most of the people have dreams hidden away in their heart or mind that creates a terrible sense of unrest. Why didn’t they ever pursue those dreams? Fear is by far the number one reason that keeps people in a depressing job, horrible relationship, or any other number of negative activities.

It might be fear of change, fear of failure, fear of success. Let’s shake this fear by digesting a few of my favorite quotations on the subject.

“Fear stifles our thinking and actions. It creates indecisiveness that results in stagnation. I have known talented people who procrastinate indefinitely rather than risk failure. Lost opportunities cause erosion of confidence, and the downward spiral begins.” CHARLES STANLEY
“One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do.”HENRY FORD

To fight fear, act.   To increase fear- wait, put off, postpone.DAVID JOSEPH SCHWARTZ

So what are you going to do with your life? Will you go back to school and get the education that you always wanted? Will you make the job change? Will you let fear sabotage your life? Never

SUCCESS AT JSU BUSINESS LAW FINAL GRADES – Brad McCullouch

SUCCESS AT JSU BUSINESS LAW FINAL GRADES – Brad McCullouch

JSU

Jackson State University

Today I submitted final grades for Business Law 302-80 to the Registrar at Jackson State University. It can rightly be said that true success in life often comes after incredible adversity. I have seen many of my students at JSU recover from illness, family tragedy, and just the hard stuff of life. It has really amazed me the caliber of students I have seen this semester in Business Law.

victoryFrom the beginning I have emphasized that it’s not what grade you eventually end up with, it’s the amount of work and sweat equity involved. Hard work, the willingness to admit you need help, and accepting that help is what makes the difference in a successful student. I have seen many of you come out of the gates slow, but then finish strong.

Isn’t that what life is about? Seldom do we become the people we want to be unless we are willing to put in the work, admit mistakes, and try our best to remedy them in whatever way we can. Something magical happens at that point. The truth starts to set in and great things begin to happen. It’s about becoming clear in life, becoming clear about your future, and pursing it with tenacity. So if you want to get better at something – be it school, relationships, work- get some clarity. If you want to be a success in life start looking inside first. When a person can honestly appraise their personality defects, and work hard to improve good things start to happen.

It has truly been a privilege teaching the students in Business Law 302-80 at Jackson State University. Hopefully they will all know that I am available to help each of them in any way I can. Success in school is a journey and in many ways resembles life. If you didn’t do so well- take the time to get honest with yourself. It will pay huge dividends for the rest of your life.
